Tips n Trix:
atari:
software:none (os and 720 drive read compatability with pc's 720kb 3.5'')
allowed me to move program called stmaster (has a slave called pcslave)
null modem cable, 5 minutes fiddling and atari read the hdd of pc as nice
as i could ask for
after that it was just a matter of finding packers, crunchers, unpackers
and utils i liked
everest: (text editor...large but nice)
monomon: (disk editor mono only (hires)
f_copy 3: scans formats copies and more
miniterm: vt 100 terminal prog, can't make sz/rz work on it tho
am now and then messing with xyz.prg in conjunction with it
but since stmaster i'm not that stressed out about it
jampacker4: so far fastest and best (most working exe's out of it) cruncher
i've seen, mind you, i'm NOT atari ST specialist, i've recently
gotten it but tested a few and didn't like em
anyway it does the job, does it fast,
effective and it's easy handling
Cpanel.acc:replacement control panel
private-eye.acc:sysinfo
cli.acc:command line shell (sorely needed if ya ask me)
atari STe can read pc 720 kb 3.5'' disks fine, dunno bout other st's tho
to make disks readable (so a pc can read st's disks) either edit disk
using a disk editor edit startsector byte 15
(the values below are untested but copied from atari st handbook by pär lundqvist, use them at your own risk)
values
F9 = 2 sides 80 tracks
F8 = 1 side 80 tracks
FC = 1 sides 40 tracks
FD = 2 sides 40 tracks
or use a program to fix it.
