Fujitsu ergopro e451 (p133/16/850) This one i was given by the local puterstore it was a chassi, power supply and motherboard the rest was stripped. i called around some, a friend of mine had a p133 cpu kicking about i could have it for free if i tested his amd k6-266 done deal! plop p133 into ergopro plop in 4x4 72 pin sim ( mem modules) connect and test works partially...bios shows at least power off add chipfan and heat sink (doesn't everyone have these things kicking about?) add floppy and hdd test...bios (50) floppy error (40h) turn off the floppy interface and booting from floppy get "bad or missing operating system" on a drive i KNOW has win95 a on it hmmmmmm research time! google, ergopro e451... after many links i found a manual for it "pc specialist's handbook" for the ergopro series e,x and s first edition, release 3 (july 1996) it's available for download in my bbs file area telnet wlofie.dyndns.org (once you have a username, you can download via ftp) to learn more http://wlofie.dyndns.org/sbbs/default.html checking through it, it is pretty good has information on the POST and bios codes but it revealed that the bios is partially located on the bootblock? :-(( (this always struck me as idiotic) aaaanyway go to fujitsu home page download the bios for this sucker (update) find out the floppy will not work (at least it's at home) this problem could be a blown smc (it's a controller chip) in which case i have an offer to grab an interface card (hdd, parallell, serial, floppy) for 5 bucks at a local dealer i'd rather do that than soldering the surface mounted smc first tho i want to check with fujitsu so i need to call them the floppy finally worked, my cables were damaged (more than one) this would make such a nice lil linux box *g* will keep this updated too "re: pwolf133 updates" wlofie
