Don't even think about emailing me your problems about this bbs until you have read the manual, (at least the chapters pertaining to your problems), more than likely my answer will refer to in some part the manual or information in that manual, so emailing me, without reading the manual, will do you little good, i don't coddle people who won't RTFM
on the other hand don't take the above statement to mean i won't help, i will help, and willingly so, but if you won't try to help yourself, or are to lazy to help yourself, then why shouldn't i follow your example, and be too lazy to help you too?

The USER documentation for the classic interface (i seriously recommend this interface), it's a pdf file, around the 135kb

Newsgroup translation (discussion) are now online, this means that if you have an user account on the bbs, you can now use the bbs discussion boards via your normal newsreader( outlook, netscape newsgroups and tin)

this is a part of sbbs functionality but it IS beta, ie, it may not work for everyone

you'll need to add your bbs username AND password, only use 8 characters for each even if you have longer ones

Note: for news or ftp you STILL need an user account,
telnet to: wlofie.dyndns.org (port: 23)
i recommend you use hyperterminal, avoid winblows 9x/me/nt/2k telnet.exe (the console one in xp isn't all bad though)

when asked for a login, type NEW as the user and then follow the instructions,

please note typing "guest" will work, you'll not be able to download files (you will be able to see what is there though) you will not be able to post on discussion forums (although you will be able to read them (some at least))

Ftp username and password are the same as your telnet (bbs) username and password. use only the first 8 characters for each, even if you have longer ones


Some Pages from my bbs have been put up in daputers they are in the"an extract of texts from my bbs" link there (or here). there are things like...faq on bbs's in general and on terminal programs, there is not and probably will not be a forum for them, discussions about a bbs on a forum is kinda counter productive, unless it's "sysop can't get it running" discussions
